Psychotherapy for Overcoming Traumatic Experiences
I am very passionate about my trauma therapy work with people who’ve suffered from trauma.
Together I will help you process and overcome the negative impact of traumatic memories. I have a great deal of experience with bringing relief to people who continue to suffer as a result of a painful trauma.
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (commonly referred to as PTSD) is one manifestation of exposure to a traumatic event. See here for a list of the symptoms.
I have worked extensively with people who have endured sexual, physical and emotional abuse, as well as exposure to incidental violence, car accidents, terror, combat and other harmful memories.
Learning how to overcome trauma means gradually reducing the emotional pain associated with the memories. It doesn’t mean learning to forget. It also means building a healthier perspective so that you can relate to the trauma in a digestible way.
Very often, traumatic experiences become embedded in your identity, and if they aren’t processed correctly, they can lead to distortions in your sense of self, your outlook for the future, and your ability to make healthy decisions.
Psychotherapy can truly make a difference.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions about how I help people who’ve endured trauma. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.
